Bravo's owner Brad Marlett discovered the joy of sailing in 2012 and fell in love with the sea. As a San Diego native, he grew up surfing and swimming at many of San Diego's beaches. Always looking West and wondering what it might be like to sail in one of the many boats gracing the waters just offshore.
His first boat was an American 25' which he sailed for almost a year. As his need to discover more of the ocean and waters offshore grew, he had to upgrade to a bigger boat. The American 25' was sold and his next boat purchase was a Lancer 29'. The Lancer was a solid boat, however Brad lusted for something bigger and better. He needed a boat that could take him anywhere. Down into Mexico, over to the Channel Islands, and up the California coast. This brought about the purchase of Bravo, Brad's third boat. A 1987 Catalina 34'. Bravo is in better than factory new condition having undergone a major refitting just a year ago. At that time, many of the ship's systems were completely overhauled, replaced or upgraded. Including the installation of touch screen navigation.
Eventually, Brad wanted to share his love of the sea with others by taking people out on charters. Unfortunately Brad does not currently have the free time required to take a two week long Captain's course in order to get the required USCG Captain's License. Brad does however have two good friends both of whom are USCG Licensed Captains. Brian (25 Ton License)and Brandon (50Ton License) are both very safe, experienced, and reliable Captains with years of offshore sailing experience.
