Launch out of Belle Haven Marina in Alexandria, VA, minutes from Raegan National Airport and Washington. From here you will have a number of options to begin your day of fun.
Directly across the river is the National Harbor where you can find restaurants, shopping, and the Capital Wheel.
Head north and you'll find the Alexandria waterfront, where the high-end Chart House restaurant or the Torpedo Factory art gallery may strike your fancy.
A bit further, past Gravelly Point park by the airport (where many visitors enjoy watching planes landing close overhead) you may wish to visit the Southwest Waterfront. Options here include seafood at The Wharf or waterfront drinks and bites at Cantina Marina.
Keep going and you'll enjoy views of the Washington Monument, the Lincoln Memorial, and the Kennedy Center. Seeing these from the water is a special experience.
After passing the monuments you'll be at the Georgetown Waterfront. Docking here is free and there are a number of nice restaurants to choose from. You can also walk to M Street, a popular shopping destination.
Past Georgetown, many boaters like to set anchor and relax as the water is quite calm in this area. This is a great spot to do some swimming or just soak up some sun!
There are also some great options starting your voyage south of Belle Haven, where the water opens up and you can really get up to speed.
Whatever you decide to do, you will certainly have fun! If you have any questions, I'm here to help. Gather your group and get ready to have a good time.
