This is Yamaha's flagship boat, sitting on a trailer on the peninsula. It seats 12 adults comfortably, and besides the dizzying array of standard features, it includes tasteful and practical upgrades and accessories, making it nearly perfect for cruising the Charleston area, from the rivers, to the bay, out to the many islands.
Some non-standard features (more will be added over time):
- floating VHF radio, and two additional fire extinguishers
- Lowrance Elite-5 CHIRP Chartplotter/Fishfinder
- Thrust Vector XV (auxiliary steering fins)
- Throttle Sync (makes operating the twin engines much easier)
- SeaDek flooring throughout
- panoramic rear view mirror
- keel guard
- large soft cooler (the ski locker can also be used as an enormous cooler)
- the usual array of flotation, docking, and anchoring gear
The following is available for an additional charge:
- towable tube ($25 for the tube and rope)
- EPIRB and PLB (satellite based emergency beacons; $20 for either, $30 for both)
Now for the nitty-gritty.
This is a jet boat, which behaves differently than typical stern drives, especially at low/docking speeds; it's more like a giant jet ski. A little bit of practice after shoving off will go a long ways.
The total tow weight is about 5000#, requires a 2" ball, and if you do tow, there is a $20 cleaning/flushing fee when you return the boat. As an alternative to you towing, for a $100 fee, I can usually provide a concierge service, where I take care of the towing, dropping the boat in the water (either Remleys Point or WO Thomas; other, more distant landings are possible), coming back to recover the boat once you're done (typically no later than an hour after dusk), refueling it (fuel cost not included), cleaning it up (within reason), and flushing the engines, which altogether takes 2-3 hours.
Rental time: the normal rental period is up to eight hours, so if you'd like to have the boat longer, let me know. Please be on time, or better yet, a little early, as there's no such thing as being fashionably late in boating. If you are late either picking up (a delayed start) and/or returning the boat, you may have to pay for a full additional hour for every portion of an hour started.
