I love boats, airplanes and trains – always have. I think the common theme with all three is that they are a means to transport us to different places and interrupt our daily normalcy. Owning a yacht of this size was a long held dream that came to fruition in 2008. Maybe it was my time in the mid-1980’s working on Santa Crus Island off the coast of Santa Barbra that gave me the urge. Part of that assignment was spent on US Coast Guard cutters and sea-going tugs moving back and forth to Long Beach harbor. Or maybe it was living in beautiful British Columbia for a while, where the mountains meet the sea and create thousands of fabulous coves and cruising opportunities for recreational boaters. Whatever it was, I have been smitten. So now I own a yacht and want to share this joy of the water with others, who, like me, need a break from the stress and anxiety we call modern living. Added to my practical experience of operating and navigating a yacht, I am a licensed Captain by the US Coast Guard for vessels up to 100 tons. I am also a member of the Coast Guard auxiliary in eastern Tennessee which offers me an opportunity to serve others on the water and also receive continual training in water safety and operational situation awareness. You can always rent a boat – but I am offering you a private captained yachting experience built upon my experience and your cruising desires. Dream big and welcome aboard!
