S.V. Violet

Violet is a 2016 well-appointed 41' sailing yacht located on Puget Sound. She was designed by Philippe Briand and built by Jeanneau to maximize comfort as well as sailing performance. Below deck she has a full galley, three staterooms, two heads, and large salon. Above deck she has a large cockpit, swim platform, and plenty of room to lounge. Violet is well commissioned, with B&G sailing and navigation electronics, North Sails 3DL Marathon sail inventory, and all Harken hardware. She also has a large tender with outboard.

Featured Cruises:

Puget Sound is an amazing place to sail. There are many destinations, such as Gig Harbor and Poulsbo, with vibrant waterfronts. There are just as many relaxing coves and islands, such as Blakely Harbor or Blake Island. All destinations are better when you arrive by water

After spending years sailing around Puget Sound, we have four favorite charters that you can enjoy as-is or customize for your own special event. You can get in on the sailing action or just enjoy the view with a nice glass of wine. There’s always flexibility for what works for you and your guests. We especially like to help with special occasions and putting together the touches that make your event uniquely yours.

Sunset Cruise (4 hours, up to 6 passengers, $495)

Perfect for a weeknight on Puget Sound with friends, family or co-workers. Leave conveniently from the marina near downtown Seattle with an enjoyable sail across the Sound from Elliott Bay to Blakely Harbor, a small intimate Bainbridge Island harbor with a fantastic view of the Seattle downtown skyline. Bring your favorite dinner or grilling items to enjoy while anchored in the harbor. Watch the sun set behind the Olympic mountain range, then set sail back to Seattle as the city lights start to shine. Enjoy mountains, water, and city skyline views only seen when out on Puget Sound. This is a wonderful option for out-of-town guests who want to experience a slice of the Pacific Northwest or for locals who want a quick city escape.

Day Sail (8 hours, up to 6 passengers, $795)

Take family, friends, and colleagues out for a day on the water aboard Violet and they will rave about the experience! Possibilities include sailing Elliott Bay, along the Seattle waterfront and Alki Beach, or circumnavigating one of the nearby islands. We customize the day for you and go at your desired pace with plenty of spots to enjoy a quiet lunch at anchor or simply relax with friends and the glorious views. We welcome anyone who would like to lend a hand in sailing the yacht and learning more about sailing.

Weekend Getaway (2 days, 1 night, up to 4 passengers, $1195)

This is the perfect option for weekend warriors or for taking your family for a sailing adventure overnight. Choose from a handful of unique Puget Sound destinations, all available within 3-5 hours on the water. Let us make your trip planning easy and perfectly customized for the fun and adventure your party is looking for. Options include Blake Island Marine State Park, nearby portside communities that feature local wineries, distilleries, farmers markets, and wonderful shops, pubs, and restaurants. Your choice to anchor in a quiet cove overnight or tie up in a marina. We’ll leave near downtown Seattle at noon on Saturday and return by 4:00 Sunday. This is one of the most unique weekend adventures and it will create many stories to share long after the sailing concludes.

Take A Long Weekend (3 days, 2 nights, up to 4 passengers, $1995)

Ready to venture a little farther? The comfort and spacious modern design of Violet makes longer cruising charters easy, relaxing, and perfectly appointed. Our captain’s decades of sailing Puget Sound waters shines when planning your 3 day, 2 night get-away. Hop from harbor to harbor throughout the weekend and enjoy pristine coves and artisan communities in the islands and peninsulas of Puget Sound. Sailing is best enjoyed at distances up to 35 nautical miles a day, giving plenty of time to enjoy your destination. After a few days on the water you will be amazed by how relaxed and rejuvenated you and your guests will be. Perfect for couples who want a special celebration or families looking for a truly memorable family adventure together.

We look forward to sharing the beautiful waters of Puget Sound and showing you a different perspective of Seattle by sail.

LIMIT OF 6 PASSENGERS by the U.S. Coast Guard small vessel for hire regulations , sorry this limit isn't flexible

Can we sail Lake Washington or Lake Union?

Violet is moored on the ocean side of the locks, while possible to do charters on Lake Washington and Lake Union, it takes a good portion of the day navigating back and forth through the locks and many draw bridges. There are other boats on this site more conveniently located on the Lake Washington and Lake Union side of the locks.

Will we see wildlife or whales?

On the typical sail we almost always see seals, sea lions, bald eagles, porpoises, and other wildlife. Violet's location in central Puget Sound, while great for sailing, doesn't make for very good whale watching. You will have much better whale watching results further north. There are many commerical whale watching providers in Anacortes, Bellingham, and the San Juan Islands.
