The boat

Step aboard this timeless classic from 1984 restored to all it's teak trimmed glory. Beyond restoration, every improvement possible was put into this project. Replace and raise the stern 6 inches to keep the deck dry in rough weather, increase the size of the below deck livewell, add a supplemental fuel tank and much much more.

I'm a lifetime mariner out of Gloucester MA. I started hauling lobster traps by hand in a rowed dory when I was 10 and never stopped. I expanded to commercial lobstering with 200 traps before I finished high school. After high school I went to URI where I graduated with a degree in Marine Technology specializing in navigation, marine engines and hydraulics along with fishing gear and vessel repair. After graduation I sold my lobstering business and moved into the world of commercial fishing with draggers and seiners. I bought my first 40ft dragger at the age of 22 and also owned a gillnetter and a 90ft herring carrier. I am USCG licensed to operate any vessel up to 100 tons. When the fishing industry collapsed I regrouped and got into public safety. I recently retired from my position as Deputy Fire Chief and the shift commander over four stations at the Gloucester Fire Department. I have extensive experience managing crisis of all sorts including shipboard fires and flooding vessels. As a member of the Massachusetts Urban Search and Rescue Task Force I have been asked to respond on a national scale to events such as 911, numerous hurricanes, explosions and many other events of national significance . I created and was the Divemaster for the Cape Ann Regional Dive Rescue team for eight years. Are you getting a bit more senior with health concerns? Maybe a family just starting out with young children? I have been an Emergency Medical Technician for almost 30 years. I have personally provided patient care for everything from choking infants to amputations to seniors suffering from strokes, heart attacks, and diabetic shock. You and your family members can rest assured that I can handle any sort of medical emergency that might arise while you are boating with me. While on the fire department I simultaneously operated Producer Fishing charters out of Gloucester. I named my charter operation after the nickname I earned while I was a commercial fisherman. "The Producer". My crew nicknamed me that for my ability to always produce a successful trip. My motto on my web site was, "If the Producer catches nothing, you pay nothing". While I didn't bat 1,000% I gave away very few trips. I currently own a 1984 Mako center console that my sons and I have completely restored and improved upon with a higher stern, new deck, second fuel tank and much more. The entire project can be viewed on the Classic Mako web site. http://www.classicmako.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=13448&whichpage=6&SearchTerms=close%2Cin%2Cstern%2Cof%2C21b If you are looking for an experienced ship captain and professional crisis manager whose life and livelihood has always depended upon making the right decision at the right time then I'm your Captain.
