The boat

“Capturing lifetime memories with each trip!”

Welcome aboard Newport Beach’s newest, fastest, and most advanced whale watching boat in its class. Brought to Newport Beach, CA all the way from Ocean City, MD, she is the ultimate vessel for whale watching.

Not your average Whale Watching tour (we don’t do average or mediocre), we customize each trip to complement our clients. We limit our trips to 6 passenger(s) or less to provide the personal attention and comfort you deserve.

Our trips are approximately 2 hours in duration, departing from beautiful Balboa Island in Newport Beach, and have close access to the coastal waters of Orange County, a super highway for whales and dolphins year round. With our new boat’s speed and efficiency, we are able to cover more water, with a range extending to Huntington Beach – Long Beach area, down the coast to Laguna Beach – Dana Point, and beyond if necessary.

We are fortunate to have such amazing sightseeing opportunities along Newport’s coast, including:

Whales: Humpback, Gray, Blue, Fin, Minke, and Killer whales (actually dolphins)

Dolphins: Common, Bottlenose, Risso’s, and Pacific White-Sided

Our new boat is extremely quiet, enabling us to stealthily approach and bring you a front row seat to these awe inspiring mammal showings, without disturbing them in their element.

Capt. Nicholas
Captain Nicholas Nagel has over 20 years of experience on the water to share with you. Having grown up on the East Coast, his offshore adventures have charted thousands of miles navigating the depths of the Mid Atlantic to the bountiful waters of the Pacific. His love for the ocean and fascination of boats, motivated him to earn his USCG Master Captain’s credentials at the youngest possible age of 19. Despite a promising Ivy league education at Dartmouth, Captain Nick always returned to a life on the water. With saltwater pumping through his veins, his resume of operating, managing, and outfitting boats of all sizes, has given him the knowledge, passion, and ambition to found East Meets West Excursions, located on beautiful Balboa Island – we are Newport Beach’s premier Dolphin and Whale Watching tour / Happy Hour Sunset cruise charter boat! We specialize in charters of 6 person(s) or less so we can provide you with the comfort and attention you deserve. Our 5 star reputation is mandatory, not an exception.
