A happy medium in every category that's built to be used ALL YEAR!
Big enough for 6 -- McDonald's loving -- adults and can be outfitted for entertaining, fishing, crabbing or water sports. I know because I do it all with this boat but I haven't tried smuggling yet.
Small and shallow enough to get back into those coves and rivers to where the fish and crab are, or just take it out by yourself with out ripping your arm off holding it to the dock when its windy out.
You can use the large open cockpit to entertain your annoying relatives with some deck chairs or a reclining lounger and use the sun shade to cover the entire deck for your Irish friends. You can put live-wells or crab pots in the back or just leave it empty for some social distancing to go explore the bay.
The pilot house keeps the sun off you in the summer and the snow/rain off you in the winter. Sure you might find some dude trying to rent a "boat" to you that has the vinyl/plastic enclosure but he already knows -- and hopes that you don't -- that without windshield wipers you can't see anything once that salt spray hits his boat and dries.
The cuddy cabin is big enough for 2 enemies or 3 friends. You can spend the night to get an early start or use it for some extra dry/secure storage.
The 150HP Honda sips gas and is the most quiet motor I've ever heard. Don't worry, you'll just have to turn the radio up when you bring the wife.
I lived in South Florida for 20 years so I refuse to accept a boating season that only lasts half a year. For once a boat that actually WILL do it all, any time, anywhere. No more staying home because it's windy or raining. No more calling it quits when it starts to get chilly out -- Leave that crap to the bow rider and center console owners.
Just give her a rinse after each use. She rest on a boatel rack and can be in the water ready to go when you are. Now you can spend the rest of your time where you should be, ON THE WATER!
