Plying the waters of New England for 40 some-odd years, he is familiar with the unique wind and current patterns that make sailing in the Northeast so terrific. With plenty of patience for teaching , or simply sightseeing, Captain Dow can make your time on the water both educational and memorable. He holds a United States Merchant Mariner document and a US Coast Guard 100 Ton Near Coastal Masters license with both Towing and Sailing Endorsements. He has delivered private yachts all over the world and has close to 120,000 open ocean miles behind him, including many of the World’s most prestigious long distance yacht races. As a 30-year Chatham resident, his yacht restoration business (Nor’Easter Marine) and charter business (Sail Chatham) have brought together guests and clients from all over the globe, including players from the Boston Red Sox, CEO s of Fortune 500 companies, and flatlanders from Nebraska who had never seen the ocean. Currently the skipper of a stunning Little Harbor 50 sailing vessel and a Rampage 38 Express sportfishing vessel, Captain Dow will get you on the water whether your desire is an overnight to Nantucket, fishing the rips off Monomoy or racing in the famed Figawi Race. Certified in CPR and Red Cross First Aid, his adherence to safe practices on the water and state-of-the-art vessels and equipment ensure you and your friends and family will have a trip to always remember.
