The boat

Our Sea Ray 400 is an express is sporty, fast and has all the comforts of home. As a sport yacht the 400 is well equipped to handle two up to 10 guests or a family for week-long cruises, and is a classic Sundancer design.

With her bold 1990’s styling and spacious interior, the Sea Ray 400 Express was considered a state-of-the-art boat when she was introduced back in 1992. This was the long-awaited replacement model for the 390 Express Cruiser (1984–91), and while she has less beam than her predecessor, she was a big step up in luxury and appearance.

One thing you’ll notice right away is the U-shaped lounge that can seat up to nine quests in the cockpit. It quickly converts into a sunpad, and there is a removable table for dining. A wet bar with sink and standard icemaker is for handy refills and reduces traffic down below. An electric assist hatch makes it easier to get to the engine and check the fluid levels before taking off.

The 400 has a double-wide benchseat next to the captain’s chair, and the burlwood dash is arranged in three tiers, with instruments close at hand. There is plenty of sleeping space on board, a sofa in the salon which converts into a double berth and private owner’s stateroom.

Built on a deep-V hull with a solid fiberglass bottom, the two-stateroom interior of the 400 Express offers comfortable accommodations for six. The master stateroom includes a pedestal island berth as well as a TV/VCR and a privacy door, and a circular pocket door closes off the starboard sitting room, converting it into a private stateroom with a full-size bed and convertible upper bunk.
