The boat

The SV-211 is at its heart an innovative crossover V-drive. Yet when we tested this boat — wrapped in Air Nautique attitude and equipped with the Team package — a pro-level wakeboarding machine emerged.

Almost as remarkable as that transformation is what Correct Craft has done to reinvent the interior. No other boat with a 93-inch beam is as easy to get around in. Floor space in the center of the boat is expansive between the cushy seating on each side. Carrying your gear to the back of the boat before your run is zero problem thanks to the wide walkway through the transom and the steps to the composite boarding platform.

Boards, ropes and supplies tuck away in plenty of storage compartments such as the in-floor locker, the area under the flip-up passenger loveseat and the huge 58-quart cooler. Audio input jacks let you plug your MP3 player into the rocking Clarion stereo system. When it's time to clean up, just snap off the plush carpet and hose down the nonskid composite floor. Not that you'll ever be ready for the fun to end.

WAKEBOARDING

Top riders have been lining up to try the SV-211, with Shawn Watson among the pro wakeboarders who have one. The SV-211 comes standard with the new Hydro-Gate, a stainless-steel plate that sinks the stern at three settings with the flip of a lever at the driver's console. The Team package outfits the boat with a tower, board racks, Perfect Pass Digital Pro and three ballast tanks (300 pounds in the center, 400 in the rear) with helm control. Add it all up, and you get really sweet wakes with a good shape for all moves. The transition is long and the landing zones are wide, practically crying out for wake-to-wake maneuvers. Fairly big wakes and double-ups provide good kick off the lip, and the size isn't so overpowering as to scare off intermediate riders.

LOWDOWN

• Fully outfitted as the Air SV-211 Team, this crossover boat appeals to hard-core wakeboarders.

• Wake characteristics are excellent for all levels of riding.

• Hydro-Gate shifts running attitude on the fly to decrease or increase size of wakes.

• In addition to tower, three-tank ballast and Perfect Pass, Team package includes keyless ignition and digital gauges.

• Transom features a wide walkway to the

platform.

• Legroom in the main area is tremendous.
