Here's the perfect boat for a family day on the water. This unsinkable 15' Boston Whaler SuperSport with 60 hp Mercury outboard engine is just the ticket for tubing, skiing, clamming, fishing, or exploring. With a maximum capacity of six passengers, the boat is equipped with life jackets, cushions, first aid kit, safety gear, and GPS and fish finder.
The boat is located on Potter Pond in South Kingstown, RI, with a private dock and private parking. Potter Pond is one of several salt water ponds along the Rhode Island coast, and is approximately one mile long. The lack of boat traffic makes it ideal for tubing or skiing. or anchor in the sandy shallows for swimming or quahogging (RI hard-shelled clams). LIttlenecks and cherrystone clams are pretty easy to find with a rake, or just use your feet to uncover them. If you're lucky, and quick, you can also catch enough blue crabs for a nice treat!
Potter Pond is home to one of RI's most successful aquaculture ventures, the Matunuck Oyster Farm. You can watch workers at the "farm," then motor over to the Matunuck Oyster Bar, one of RI's finest seafood restaurants, and tie up to their dock and enjoy a great snack or meal. For more exploring, travel through the short channel to Point Judith Pond, home to one of RI's largest commercial fishing fleets. If you're very persuasive, we'll even show you our own oyster growing effort, right off our own dock.
Do you enjoy birding? See swans, geese, ducks, cormorants, egrets, gulls, and herons. There are at least two osprey nests on the pond and it's a real treat to watch an osprey dive into the water and come up with dinner!
Come join us. We'd love to share our pond with you.
