Captain Jan's affinity for the high-seas began early in life on the waters of the State of Florida, between Pensacola and Hutchinson Island, where his life for sail, sand, surf and began. He did a 21 year stint in the Navy and pioneered a Sailing School—a Sea School in the Caribbean—at age 19 received his official Captain’s License. Jan’s relocation to Fort Lauderdale is not a common transplant tale: After retirement from the Armed Forces, and retirement from the IT Engineering Industry as well, he decided to relocate. Although, holding a Masters Degree in Science in IT Engineering, Governance & Cyber Security, he re-took and went licensed as a Power Squadron and USCG Auxiliary Skipper. After permanently unpacking his bags, Captain Jan began chartering sailboats and powerboats, then decided to embark on being a professional Skipper at the helm as a full-time career. Previous Experience

As your Captain, please allow me to Kindly and unpretentious present Thee with facts and charts that will describe your Navigational Journey; First, Safety is my Middle Name and second, my last name is Master of the Seven Seas. I was born and raised by the shore in the West Coast of Florida. For as long as I can remember, the East Coast and the West Coast of Florida have been my homes always surrounded by water vessels. As well as living in Islands like Indonesia, Okinawa, Philippines, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands has made my passion for the Ocean so intense, even to the point, that I decided to go and serve my Country by being a Naval Officer. While on service for 21 years I did my share on touring in which I earned Boatswain's Mate, Maintenance and Mechanics, Ensign, Lieutenant, Lt. Commander ranks. At the same time, finished a degree in Science in Financial Marketing and a Master in Science IT Governance, Risk, Compliance and Cyber Security. For over 30 years and at spare time, Iv'e experienced the Sea at another level. I have owned three boats, a 1980s Chris Craft 42' diesel, a 1990's, 52' Benetau and I restored a 49' Endeavor Sail boat, complete with two Myanmar diesel engines and new fiberglass. I have worked Internationally for several years with companies such as AT&T, SAP, Waste Management and Business Intelligence Solutions on IT Project Deployments and Cloud Engineering. During my tenure with Waste Management did my share in the BP spill cleanup of waters in the Gulf of Mexico which collected 2 Million gallons of crude oil. Have performed volunteer work for search and rescue of Cuban and Haitian victims at sea. Have become a licensed Power Squadron, USCG Captain, Master Diver Instructor as well as Advanced Pilot, Defense Instructor and NRA Certified Instructor. Through the years, have gained tremendous experience operating Yachts, research boats, sailboats, inter-island cargo boats, fishing boats, dinner cruise boats, research vessels, and commercial dive boats. Have worked for Sailing teams in the North Atlantic, Europe, Canada, Bermuda the Pacific and the Caribbean. Have also worked through the Panama Canal, Samoa, Bali, Japan, Indonesia, Australia, Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, Captiva and Sanibel Island, Ft. Pierce, Fort Lauderdale, Dania Beach, Miami and the Keys.

Licensed Professional Mariner since 1984. USCG 1600 ton Master Upon Oceans license. Science and IT Degrees. Bachelor and Master respectfully with 3.76 GPA.
