I found William and his lovely boat on Boatbound when searching for a fun way to celebrate my SO's birthday this fall. It was the most wonderful experience. Captain Bill was awesome - he really went above and beyond - working with Boatbound to get us a halfday fee when Boatbound messed it up. He took us around Treasure Island, Angel Island, Golden Gate, by Sausalito, and more and was super flexible on time and navigation. His boat is clean, has plenty of space for 6 people (and more even if not everyone is sitting on the deck seats - can always sit on other parts of the boat or in the cabin), and is fun. It really was a great experience and I would recommend Captain Bill and his boat to anyone!
Second rental with Royal and had a blast again! Catalina currents were not cooperating too well for fishing but water was flat. Cruising along at 30 mph cranking the tunes ... not much more you could ask for. As usual, boat was spotless. Bait tank works likes a charm and used a very reasonable amount of gas considering we covered about 110 miles. I will rent from Royal again for sure!
Great boat, everything is working, and it all works reliably. Inboard engine fires up with a single turn of the key, and is more than enough power to move the Catalina 27 around. Berkley Marina is a nice easy in/out, sails up and drawing immediately upon leaving. The boat is well equipped, and sails wonderfully. The furling headsail plus all lines leading to the cockpit means no one need leave it during most sailing (which is great!) Eric was responsive and ensured I was comfortable with everything. Great owner, well recommended.
Tom's boat was awesome! I took the boat out with a group of friends in their twenties, and we had an awesome day. It was definitely roomy enough to fit 10 people as he mentions in his description and having the speakers was fantastic. Todd had the boat ready for us to go, and even though we didn't use them, also provided tubes and a wake board. Thanks Tom for a fun day on the boat!
