Had a wonderful time on Artie's boat. Was perfect for taking the kids out for their first time.
Candace was great to work with as we planned her trip. She was well organized, and made sure that all the details were coordinated in advance to ensure that everyone involved was on the same page. We all had a great day out on the water, She and all five of the friends were a delight to have on board. Thanks candace!
Sailing with Andy and his wife, Kris on their Catalina 42 was an incredible experience that I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a unique, memorable day on the water. In fact, a few of us are already discussing opportunities to hopefully get together with them again for another adventure this summer! As someone who was new to Boatbound and new to sailing, the experience really began when I reached out to Andy and inquired about his listing. His prompt replies throughout our communication and patient, thoughtful answers to all my questions made me realize very quickly that we had selected a highly credible Captain who would ensure our trip was safe and exceeded our expectations. Once we had all the logistics coordinated and the 6 of us arrived to the boat (which was impeccable), we were met with warm, friendly hospitality from Andy and Kris that continued throughout the duration of our 10 hour day on the water. They took time to ensure proper safety measures were in place and that we were all well acquainted with the boat before we departed. They were also very knowledgeable of various marinas and helped us decide our route. We set sail around 1pm on Sunday, June 14, 2015 from Shilshole Marina and headed for Kingston. We got off the boat there for a bit and had a late lunch/early dinner at The Filling Station, a fun pub walking distance from the Kingston Marina. We made our way back to the boat and had a leisurely sail towards Seattle where we enjoyed the beautiful skyline from the water and got to look into a breathtaking sunset as our adventure wound down for the day. The 6 of us who went sailing that day couldn’t stop talking about it for weeks. We were so grateful to have had the opportunity and in our own ways, I believe we all walked away with a renewed appreciation for our environment along with a new respect for the art and science of sailing. Since that trip, I have personally mentioned the Boatbound website along with Andy and Kris’s listing to many different people. If you are considering a sailing trip and looking for a passionate, professional team who is completely invested in your experience, I hope you choose a trip with Andy and Kris. -Candace
This was my first time sailing, and the experience was unforgettable. I chartered Joe and his boat for my brother's birthday. He was extremely easy to work with from the beginning. He responded quickly to our requests and we messaged back and forth to coordinate the best date. After booking, we were able to speak, and he was very flexible with the details for the day. He also made some good recommendations, and we followed most of them. He took us up to Malibu, and was very friendly during the tour. A few of my buddies got to help him with the sailing for a brief period, which made for some good pictures. He accommodated what we wanted to do, and made sure we got the most of our experience. Also, his boat is really amazing and has great communal areas for you to hang out and eat. Really a top notch experience.
Gerald was easy to work with and very responsive from the initial inquiry through the day of the rental. He was very easy going and accommodating. We simply told him the time and are we wanted to launch from and he met us there. The boat itself was a nice deck boat. It was showing its age somewhat with the cushions and exterior. The 250 HP engine was great and had plenty of power. The boats ride was smooth, stable and roomy. Overall we had a great experince on the boat and would definitely rent from Gerald again.
