Aboard since 2016
From Charleston, SC
Larry was on time, well-prepared, and thorough. The boat was a good size for our group of 5 and was ideal for both sightseeing in the area and tubing and skiing. We did hit a sandbar and couldn't get the boat started again. We had been advised about this as a possibility. We lost quite a bit of time as we had to be towed. The deck hands at the marina got us started again. Due to this and some bad weather that came in at about this time, Larry was gracious and allowed us to stay out later. My takeaway is to be very aware of the tides in the Charleston area. I might even build the majority of a half-day or full-day rental closer to high tides or spend time during low tides in areas that are clearly deeper water. Also, we rented on a Sunday. The marina closed at 5:00 pm, but our rental was until 6:00 pm. This added another wrinkle with regard to getting gas and leaving the boat's gas tank full. Next time I might ask more about these kinds of considerations. All in all, it was a very positive experience, and I would certainly rent this boat and from Larry again.
We had a great experience this past weekend renting from Larry. He was on time and super sweet. He let us know about tips/tricks about operating his boat and we were pleased to see it was clean and spacious. We had 6 people in our party and we each had more than enough room. We would be happy to rent again.
