“I have sailed since I was a kid on everything ranging from lasers to Hugues 48. Cruising experience in different countries with several crossings of the English channel (under stormy conditions) and I have significant racing experience including the world championships on J-80s. At home my family used to own a Beneteau sunshine 38 and we now have a Beneteau First Class 8. I have also done a lot of cruising and racing on a Dufour 40 performance (a friend's boat). I now live in SF where I race quite a bit on a Farr 40 and Beneteau 40.7. Finally, my brother founded Samboat which is the equivalent of boatsetter in Europe.”

Mikael was an great renter.
He coordinated his arrival with me when his flight was delayed and arrived in time to allow for a checkout. He understood the boat's systems and electronics and he displayed good boating/sailing skills and good judgement. Although he had trouble starting the engine on returning to the marina (the starter failed) he called me to advise of the trouble and request advice. Per my advice, he contacted vessel assist (BoatUS towing) and had Cariblue towed back to the slip where it was properly tied up. In spite of the starter failure trouble and the challenges of having to call for a tow, Mikael and his crew returned the boat on time, in great condition, well cleaned and without any damage, breakage or loss.
I would be happy to rent to Mikael again.
