About Max

“I learned how to sail and operate small craft from the time I was 8 and my family would go up to Maine. I started out on small cat boats, and worked my way up to larger one design racing boats. When I moved to California 18 years ago I bought a 33' wooden cutter which I singlehanded up the coast to attend boatbuilding school in Sausalito. After finishing that program I started sailing as crew on deliveries and have brought boats back up the coast from Mexico and Southern California as well as from Hawaii. I've also sailed through the South Pacific from the Marquesas through to New Zealand. More recently I owned a Santana 20 which I sailed regularly on the bay until a couple years ago. I am comfortable driving sailboats up to ≈70' and am just as comfortable driving small powerboats. I have my ASA BKB certification as well. Thanks for reading, I look forward to meeting you!”
