Hi, my name’s Andy and I would like to introduce you to my 24' pontoon, Jimboat. Jimboat was professionally refurbished by (and named in honor of) my friend Jim, a retired Navy special ops veteran.
Jimboat is made for entertaining, with plenty of comfortable seating. He’s powered by a 90hp commercial-grade Mercury outboard. He’s not a speed machine but he can move when he needs to.
I rent this boat out because I love being on the water and want to share the experience with other people. Hence, my goal is to make this as easy and fun as possible for you. I want to built relationships and am happy to give discounts to repeat customers.
FAQ:
Can I bring food and/or drinks? Yes! Alcohol is fine (in moderation, and so long as whoever is driving is sober) and there is a BBQ grill on board. No burgers or other greasy foods on the BBQ, please!
Do I need a captain's license? No, just a standard state boating license - it takes a few hours and about $50 for the online class. I can give you a full orientation after that, if needed. I also help teach the Boatsetter Academy class. If you haven’t seen it, look it up and tell friends!
What happens if the weather doesn't look great? I will work with Boatsetter to reschedule or get you a full refund. This goes both ways if either of us are not comfortable with conditions.
What about gas? I pay for gas and you will never get a bill for it. It just makes everything easier for everyone.
Where should I take the boat? Unless you really know the Potomac, I highly recommend Georgetown/Three Sisters area. The river south of the airport can be tricky to navigate.
Where do we pickup/drop off? Any of the public piers on the Potomac river: Georgetown, Gravelly Point, or Diamond Teague Park.
