Experience DC area waterways like never before aboard the Meridian M/Y "Arabella". This is an excellent boat for a day cruise with family and friends.
You will have a unique perspective on sights and places such as Kennedy Center, Key Bridge and Arlington Memorial Bridge, Watergate complex, Lincoln and Thomas Jefferson Memorials, Washington Monument, Reagan International Airport, The Wharf, Nationals Ballpark, Old Town Alexandria and National Harbor.
Docking at Georgetown Waterfront offers a unique boating experience. The free public dock brings many local and visiting boats. Tour boats and water taxis make regular stops at their designated area. Kayaker and paddlers explore the waters nearby. And many people stroll about the boardwalk admiring the views.
The restaurants at the Waterfront include Fiola Mare, Sequoia,Tony and Joe's, Guapo's, Farmers Fishers Bakers, Bangkok Joe's and several others including a Starbucks and an ice cream shop.
You can also chose to spend your time relaxing at anchor and lounging on the inflatables at the Three Sisters Islands - a popular local spot for kayaking, paddle boarding and hanging out at the sandbar that gets exposed at low tides. And if the hustle and bustle of the city grows tiring you can cruise farther north past the buildings and into quiet and secluded parts of the river.
Arabella features fully air conditioned salon with 360 degree views, full bath, comfortable cabin, galley with a fridge and a microwave, and a propane grill. There is a Bluetooth enabled sound system and a large portable speaker. Extended flybridge provides comfortable and unobstructed views from the second level.
FUEL COST
The USCG regulations require all charterers to pay for fuel and all other provisions. For a 4 hour cruise the cost of gas will be around $80 as the boat uses about 5 gal per hour at slow speed. Marine gas is more expensive than regular fuel and we will require the fuel deposit prior to the start of the voyage. The captain will track the fuel usage and adjust the actual cost.
PICK UP LOCATION
We will pick up and drop off at the public dock at Georgetown Waterfront. The closest address is 3000 K St NW, Washington DC.
BOAT RULES
No one under the age of 21 may consume alcoholic beverages on board.
No drug use. That includes marijuana as it is federally prohibited and DC waters are under US Coast Guard jurisdiction.
No smoking inside the salon or on deck.
No red wine or dark colored drinks. Only white wine and light colored beer, wine coolers or mixers are allowed.
No dark sole shoes on board. We will have a basket or a dedicated area for footwear. For safety, barefoot attire is recommended on deck.
TIPPING THE CAPTAIN
Tipping the captain and crew is customary in the boating and chartering industry. A general guideline for the tip amount is to be 10-15% of the boat listed price (excluding fees, fuel cost, provisions and taxes). Tipping is completely voluntary but encouraged when the captain has provided exceptional service to you and your guests.
