Schooner Windsong is a 47-foot Tancook Schooner designed by Ray Stevens of Nova Scotia. She was built by Guy H. Asbury between 1954 and 1960 in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. Much of her life was spent in New York; both around Long Island, and on Lake Ontario. Throughout her life she has been named Pleiades, Dream, John A. Noble, Chasseur, and Sara B.



Windsong is now owned by Corey Roy and Bronwyn Comer, and is based out of Norfolk, Virginia. We now offer adventure charters for up to 6 people on the waters of Hampton Roads and the Chesapeake Bay.



Set sail in your own way! 2 hour charters around Hampton Roads and the lower Chesapeake Bay, daylong trips to popular Chesapeake Bay destinations like Cape Charles and Yorktown, or longer trips to destinations like Annapolis, Baltimore’s famous Fells Point, and Saint Michaels.



Sail in style with full service charters, or put hands on with the crew on a traditional sail training cruise.

I have 16 years of maritime experience on schooners, submarines, surface ships, and small craft, performing duties that include captain, mate, watch leader, maintenance, administration, training, and mentoring. I hold a USCG 100 Ton Master / 200 Ton Mate Inland license with Auxiliary Sail, Radar Observer (Unlimited), and STCW Basic Training endorsements. My years of maritime experience, from Captain of large schooners to submarine Machinist’s Mate in the US Navy, and my drive to always improve the ships and crew that I work with are just a couple of the reasons that I am well suited to be your captain.

This boat belongs to a Commercial Owner, an independent boat rental company. A Commercial Owner is an independent, Boatsetter-approved boat rental company who provides their own insurance to their guests.

A security deposit hold (not a charge) will be placed on your credit card 48 hours before your booking starts to cover any incidental damage that may occur during your rental. This hold is released 48 hours after the booking is complete, if no claims are made. The security deposit amount for the boat you are booking will be outlined during the check-out process.
