We can launch at the Madisonville Boat Ramp right on Lake Pontchartrain and the Tchefuncte River, or at Akers Small Boat Launch by the Manchac Swamp Bridge in Akers, LA.

When it comes to fishing pontoons, this SUN TRACKER® FISHIN’ BARGE® 22 DLX is tough to beat. This spacious pontoon boat is perfect for a day out on the water with family and friends. It is powered by a 115HP Mercury outboard, providing smooth cruising and plenty of power.

The FISHIN’ BARGE 22 DLX’s long list of features begins with 32 gallons of livewell capacity spread out between the fore and aft fishing decks. Four removable and folding fishing chairs w/heavy-duty 2-3/8" (6 cm) diameter pedestals. The rail-mounted rod and tool holders, along with the aft lockable rod box, keep everything you need at hand.

A porta-potty with a pop-up privacy room is available if wanted. (Must remove one folding fishing chair to make room).

The renter will use their own qualified captain. He/She must be a capable boat driver with some knowledge of the area and the conditions in which they will be operating. They must know how to operate a boat as well as know how to operate the boat safety equipment, e.g., throttle, trim, lights, etc.)

If you’re age 18 or older, you must have a Basic Fishing License to fish recreationally in Louisiana waters. This license includes all legal means/gear for catching freshwater species. A Recreational Offshore Landing Permit (ROLP) is required to possess tunas, billfish, swordfish, amberjacks, groupers, snappers, hinds, cobia, wahoo, gray triggerfish, and dolphinfish in Louisiana waters. This permit is free of charge.

These are "adult universal" life jackets for up to 11 people. The life jackets are for people over 90lbs and with a chest size 30"-52". If you have children, infants, or anyone else who cannot use this standard-sized life jacket, I encourage you to obtain a life jacket that best suits your needs. Because children come in different sizes, it is best to get a properly fitting life jacket for each one.
