The boat
Experience the thrill of the Oakland Estuary or San Francisco Bay aboard this versatile 2001 MacGregor 26X power sailer — offered at an unbeatable value, plus 10% off on Fridays!
Designed for comfort and performance, this modern vessel features a spacious cabin, private head, galley with an alcohol stove, and a swim ladder. Powered by a 2023 60HP Mercury outboard engine, it comes equipped with performance sails, a roller furling jib, water ballast, and a dedicated captain's helm. Thanks to its retractable centerboard, the boat draws just 1 foot of water, making beach landings at Angel Island or Treasure Island effortless.
Whether you want to cruise the calm, protected Oakland Estuary, motor up to 15+ MPH to Angel Island on a serene winter morning, test your sailing skills in the central bay's afternoon breeze, or anchor at Clipper Cove for a fun family day, this boat caters to everyone — from complete novices to veteran sailors.

NOTE: The San Francisco Bay is a world-renowned sailing mecca, but it also implies challenging or sometimes unforgiving conditions. In most summer afternoons, the central bay is known for high winds and choppy seas, so venturing into the central bay or north bay in those times should only be attempted by experienced sailors. If you’re relatively new to boating or to this specific boat model (or if you’re not sure and have to ask), start with a 2-hour to 4-hour rental, and stay south of the Bay Bridge, if not within the Oakland estuary.
NOTE: If you do decide to sail beyond the Oakland estuary (into the south bay, central bay or north bay), check National Weather Service Marine Forecast by Googling “nws marine weather san francisco bay” and following the first link, before leaving the dock. Make sure you check the section relevant to your destination (“San Pablo Bay, Suisun Bay, the West Delta and the San Francisco Bay north of the Bay Bridge”, “San Francisco Bay South of the Bay Bridge”, etc.) and plan accordingly. Since this is just a forecast, observe the actual condition and use your judgment. And dress in layers, ideally with a water-proof jacket, as it’d be cool, if not cold, in the central bay, even on 90-degree days.
