The Hobie Tandem Island (TI) is a sailing kayak that is simple to learn how to use. When the wind blows, the TI moves across the water with impressive speed and agility. The TI's two outriggers (or, amas) keep the boat stable and the easy-to-maneuver expansive sail makes this a great choice for beginners to learn on. Experienced sailors will appreciate the TI's performance! When there's no wind, simply use the Mirage 180 Drives to pedal your way to your destination.
This TI is equipped with two seats in the kayak hull and two benches (or akas) mounted over the amas. So, bring a cooler and some tunes and enjoy a day on the water with a friend! Two adult passengers works best, but as long as you keep the total passenger weight below 600 lbs. you can take up to 4 out for a fun-filled day on the water (one in each seat and one on each aka). Note: We can only provide 2 adult-sized life jackets at this time. A life jacket is required for each passenger.
The boat is located on a trailer at our home. We can deliver it to Lake Marburg (Codorus State Park, PA) or to a boat launch on Lake Clarke (Wrightsville, PA). Other location options are available for additional mileage rates. We will set it up for you and orient you to the features of the boat and how to use them.

I started sailing on a Hobie 16 catamaran in the early-90's. Later, I co-owned a North American 24 cruising sailboat. My wife and I bought a Hobie Tandem Island in 2091 and have sailed it on many lakes in PA, NY, IA, SD, on the Chesapeake in MD and VA, along the North coast of FL and the Florida Keys! We love it!

Security deposit
A security deposit hold (not a charge) will be placed on your credit card 48 hours before your booking starts to cover any incidental damage that may occur during your rental. This hold is released 48 hours after the booking is complete, if no claims are made. The security deposit amount for the boat you are booking will be outlined during the check-out process.
