The boat

Sail the Chesapeake Bay on a Skippered half-day or full-day charter. We sail with sail with a maximum of 4 passengers in your private party.



Captain Russ will mix in some sailing instruction if desired. Passenger participation encouraged but not required. Experienced passengers may steer and trim sails while the Captain looks on to ensure safe navigation. Depending on preferences and length of charter we may find a restaurant for lunch on full day charters, find pods of dolphins visiting the area, stop at a beach to explore, or sail the entire time. You may bring a cooler with your lunch or snacks and some beverages.



'Joie de Vie' is a sloop rigged 33 foot Cape Dory. A fine sailing boat proven to be capable of coastal and extended cruising. Her modified full keel design allows her to handle well in all sea conditions. She has a finely appointed teak interior. The galley is fully equipped.

A security deposit hold (not a charge) will be placed on your credit card 48 hours before your booking starts to cover any incidental damage that may occur during your rental. This hold is released 48 hours after the booking is complete, if no claims are made. The security deposit amount for the boat you are booking will be outlined during the check-out process.
