Growing up on Long Island, NY Austen was a shoe in for sailor life. At the age of eight he would sail across the bay to visit the general store because he was too young to drive. He became involved with competitive sailboat racing at the age of 10 and soon became optimist class national champion. Since then he has gone on to many other classes of sailboats boats and filled skipper, crew and coaching roles. After graduating from Hobart William Smith College he decided to work and live in the VI’s for a year. Here he learned the ins and out of island life and all the best places to take people depending on their needs and wants. After a year of learning the charter trade he moved back to New York to work for his family’s tool manufacturing business. While running operations at the company he spent any extra time he had including vacation days to professionally race Etchells sailboats in all parts of the world. His days in the Virgin Islands would stay with him. The pristine beaches and eclectic life on the islands would always find a way back into his daydreams. Little did he know, he would move the company to Florida where he would run into Philomena. A happy go lucky water woman who also had dreams of island life. The rest is history and now they run Charter business. Whether you want complete silence or an outgoing adventurous island experience these two are your crew!
