We had a GREAT day with Captain Todd! He was flexible on our start time due to the weather and answered all my questions so we could be prepared when we arrived. The parking area is easy to find and the instructions on how to get to the boat are clear. The boat is exactly as described in the photos. We had 10 people out celebrating a 30th Birthday. We cruised the river and anchored for some swimming for awhile. It was a really great time and we all left talking about how we need to do it again. 5/5 stars and 10/10 recommend!
We had a great time! The boat was ideal for a larger group. It was well kept and had everything needed for a day on the water (grill, coolers, speaker, a huge float and margaritas!). We'll certainly book again for our next party. The perfect way to end the summer!
Tom was a spectacular host, and we had an amazing time. Tom was our captain, and helped ensure that we and our friends had a wonderful evening grilling and enjoying the water on the Potomac watching a gorgeous sunset from the Lincoln Memorial. If you're looking to take your friends out on the water for a fun day or evening, we strongly endorse Tom and his team!
Just great and very professional. Tom was our captain on our 'last summer day' cruise around D.C. The boat is well maintained, offers BBQs and coolers on the sun-deck and all comfort you need for a day trip. Tom is very familiar with the very hidden best spots on the Potomac and the boat can go, where few others can. Our group fully enjoyed the day with our captain on the Potomac. Five star captain and boat. Thanks a lot- we will come back next year.
Wow! If I needed to write a one-word summary of the experience that day, that's what it would be - wow! Tom was not just a competent captain, but the consummate host. He said he would be an unobtrusive host, but as it turned out, he made the day for all of us. The day started with a bit higher wind than any of us would like, but Tom simply adjusted the agenda accordingly. We stayed most of the day above Georgetown near Three Sisters. Then, when it came time to throw the steaks on the grill, Tom stepped-in (happily) and took over the cooking duty. The water quality was very good that day so we spent a lot of time in the water and Tom has all the toys. If you don’t like the toys so much, you can always do what I did; a cannonball off the top deck. I would go back again just to have steaks grilled on his awesome grill. I could not recommend Tom any higher. And, I would add that if you are contemplating being the captain yourself, I recommend that you just relax and leave the driving (and the cooking) to Tom.
This was the greatest boat ride ever. Tom was an awesome Captain. He took us all over, to see the planes fly overhead, by Lincoln Memorial, past Georgetown and more. We went to a rope swing up the river and swung a bunch of times too!
His boat is fantastic. With a huge deck on top, we had so much space for everyone in the group. We grilled burgers and hot dogs, had plenty of cooler space, and danced all day to the incredible sound system. The bathroom was clean and convenient, and there is also plenty of space downstairs if you wanted to sleep over.
We went out for a friend's 25th birthday, and we will be sure to do this again next year. I have raved to everyone I know about how awesome this day was, and everyone needs to experience the Potomac like this!! HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend.
I chartered Captain Tom and the Catamaran Cruiser for an eight hour Sunday cruise with a bunch of my closest friends and we had the best time ever!!! Captain Tom was easy to get a hold of and kept in touch with me with coordinating when and where to meet up. After we got on board we had a quick safety briefing and got right to having fun. Captain Tom drove us past the Lincoln Memorial and suggested he take a picture of the whole group and I am so thankful he did! We rode past the Georgetown Waterfront and Captain Tom picked a perfect spot for us to anchor and jump in the water. He threw out a huge raft for us to use and we also made use of his paddle board. Captain Tom made delicious daiquiris for our whole group and also served them to those of us still in the water. We grilled burgers and dogs on the top deck grill and it went off without a hitch. Sound system was awesome and made for a real party atmosphere. On the way back to the marina Captain Tom made a surprise stop at Gravelly Point Park (never been before). We watched the planes fly right over our heads and land at National airport. Seeing this from the top deck of the boat, I'm sure was the best view at the park. It was AMAZING and quite a rush. Our group loves to travel and plan activities but this was by far the most fun thing we've done all summer! Thanks Captain Tom!!
Tom is very easy to work with and does what he can to ensure your have a great day on the boat. The boat itself is great. Lots of space and the upper deck area is perfect for grilling and just relaxing. There is a kayak and stand-up paddle board for use as well. The sound system is powerful enough to serenade everyone near you on the river. You won't regret spending a day on this boat.
Tom was great to work with! He was flexible with our float plan and even drove us to our first anchorage spot. His house boat is a great change from your typical power boat and was the perfect vessel for a nice day out on the waters. It can hold a ton of people comfortably and most of the time, everyone was lounging on the floats provided anyway. Great boat with great amenities (as listed in his description) - highly recommend!
