- Minnesota Statute 86B.306 requires ANY operator of ANY age (18+) of ANY rental watercraft have a valid Watercraft Operator's Permit. Sec. 86B.306 MN Statutes

- Please note that these legislative changes are confusing: a very similar boating law passed at the same time which requires a watercraft operator's permit based on age, phase-in time until 2028, to ensure every boater born after July 1, 1987 to operate their own / private watercraft. This is NOT the rental law and while similar, does not apply to rental watercraft.

Important Rules:
🚫 No towing (skiers, boarders, boats, etc.)
🚫 No cargo transport
🚫 No kegs, grills, or portable gas cans
🚫 No pets allowed
🚫 Driver must be at least 21 years old with a valid driver’s license & complete a required boating safety course
Safety & Responsibility:
- Driver must be sober—no alcohol or drug use while operating.
- Respectful behavior is expected—unruly groups may face fines up to $500.
- Damage deposit: $1,000 (fully refundable after a post-rental inspection).
- Weather cancellations: No penalty for bad weather, but we expect you to honor your rental even if temps are 60-65°F.

Cancellation policy strict
- Free cancellations until 30 days before the booking start time.
- 50% refund for cancellations between 15-30 days before the booking start time.
- Cancellations within 14 days of the booking start time are non-refundable.
Security deposit
A security deposit hold (not a charge) will be placed on your credit card 48 hours before your booking starts to cover any incidental damage that may occur during your rental. This hold is released 48 hours after the booking is complete, if no claims are made. The security deposit amount for the boat you are booking will be outlined during the check-out process.
