I started my career crab fishing at 18 yrs. old in the Bering sea. As a deckhand & engineer. In 1996 I acquired a Mate 1600 Gt. Fishing & Master 200 Gt. inspected. In 1998 I acquired a Master 1600 Gt. 3000 ITC. I renewed my License to Master all Oceans, 1600 Gt. 3000 ITC. I have been operating Factory Long-Liners in the Bering Sea for the last 16 yrs. Vessels of 750 Gt. 180 Ft. Hauling 50,000 hooks a day with 20 to 30 crew and yes, I have fished with all of the Deadliest Catch guys.

Previous Experience

15 years as a Crab fisherman in the Bering Sea, Aleutian Islands, Gulf of Alaska and the Norwegian Sea. Lobster fisherman from Midway to Hawaii. Mate: freighter out of Savanna, Georgia, Pollock Trawlers in the Bering Sea. Captain/Consultant for risk management and operations for Shipyard projects in Dutch Harbor, Kodiak, Ketchikan, Seward, Ak. Seattle, Wa. Hawaii, Savanna, Ga. and Bergen, Norway (lived in Bergen, Norway for 7 years).

Fishmaster/Consultant in Norway. Acquired a Master Oceans 1600/3000 Gt. Inspected. For the last 16 years I have been operating large Factory Long-liners in the Bering Sea and the Gulf of Alaska. Sailed as Engineer on many crab boats. Training: managerial, computer, firefighting, extensive medical, certified Safety Drill Instructor, unlimited radar, unlimited lifeboat, FCC Radio operator. Recently operated the F/V Pavlof 179 ft, 642 Gt. Crab Catcher/Processor in the Bering Sea 22 crew.
