Captained by a 100 Ton Licensed Master Captain. Whether for a 2 hour event or an all day cruise, your voyage on The Sea Spirit is sure to create memories that you will carry with you far beyond your return to the dock.
We had a great time on the boat. We paid for a completely open bar but they ran out of certain items while we were still on board, which wasn't a big deal but ultimately we wished they had everything. The staff were incredibly nice and accommodated our rowdy group of guys with ease. This was a very easy trip that we'd absolutely take again and again. Thank you Captain Steve!
Captain Steve and his crew (his father and mother) was great! Everything about our day on the water in the Sea Spirit was wonderful! Our group of 34 women had a lovely afternoon, with our lunch and beverages that we had brought with us. They could have provided or coordinated the food and drinks for us, but we wanted to bring everything ourselves.
Boat was clean and comfortable. Loved the upper deck and the main deck. Our group sort of split up, but many went up or down, throughout the trip. There was a bit of a problem, in that the generator was broken so we had no A/C on the maindeck, so it was quite warm, even with the nice breeze. Also the CD player wasnt working so although the provided music turned out to be fine, we had planned to play our own music.
The trip overall was lovely! Captain Steve was also accommodating when our numbers were unconfirmed until the week before. More so than Boatsetter who wanted to hold us to the "30 days before" requirement, until Captain Steve explained that that was our plan with them from the beginning.
Just a point of information. The site says the joat can handle up to 85. I wouldnt want more than 40 or 45. This is particularly so, since there is a maximum of 18 allowed on the upperdeck.
I would definitely charter this boat with this captain again!
Like every situation, make sure everything is clear and in writing before you sign.
Thanks so much!
We had a lovely party. However, I was very surprised after booking when I received a contract that tripled the cost. We were not allowed to bring alcohol on board so had to pay open bar per person per hour. We were advised to bring hot plates to warm up food for the party, but there was no electricity when we arrived nor during the entire 5 hour cruise. We were also told that there would be parking passes for our guests. When we arrived, there were no parking passes. Our DJ had cancelled a party and traveled over an hour and we had to send him away due to lack of electricity. There were blue tooth speakers we used but we had to connect our phones, that died and could not be plugged in, the blue tooth speakers could not be recharged, there was no ice to keep our salads cool, the ice for the drinks ran out, and there was no air conditioning. However, the boat is very nice, the crew of two and bartender were nice and professional (although I do not understand why I had to pay entrance per person, if it did not correlate to the number of crew members). There are two bathrooms, which were very convenient and both floors are spacious. It was perfect for 30-40 guests, but beware, you pay per guest, even if you are renting the entire boat as a venue for a private party. Because of the bar fees, we ended up paying almost triple the boatsetter fee plus tax and mandatory gratuity. I asked about reimbursement for the major inconvenience of not having electricity and they declined, so there's not much customer service on the front or back end. The party was lovely though.
Jellyfish, a digital marketing agency located in Baltimore, chartered Captain Steve's DMR Yachts for our employee summer celebration. We had a fantastic time, he and his team were great to work with, and they even came through treacherous weather to get to us. We thank you!
