CANCELLATIONS: We strive to be as accommodating as possible. As a small business with a short season, once we take your booking we pass on all others for that slot- we cannot recapture that business. We do understand things do change; therefore, we have policies that are fair. We try to accommodate requests that do not negatively impact business operations, however that is not always possible.
Charterer may cancel or reschedule to another date, ONLY if done so more than 30 days in advance, a refund, less 10% plus any fees incurred will apply. We do not cancel charters under 30 days for any reason. Rescheduling between 15-30 days in advance has a 25% rescheduling fee. Rescheduling and cancellation less than 15 days in advance will forfeit the charter fee. Any balance due will be charged to the charterer. All requests for cancellation and rescheduling must be submitted via email and are not considered received until we respond. You may transfer the booking to an eligible charterer if we are notified at least 48 hours ahead of time in writing to ensure our paperwork is in order.
Cancellations only occur if the USCG issues a small craft advisory or the captain deems it unsafe (usually decided just hours before departure). Rain is a land-weather concern; Wind and Sea State are marine-weather concerns. We follow the Coast Guard's lead to ensure your safety.
Custom orders and add on items such as banners, catering, etc., cannot be cancelled for any reason.
YOUR BOOKING SLOT: Your booking is set for 2 or 3 hours. We will board just prior to your start time and return about 15 minutes prior to your end time. We do not extend charters if you are late- it is your responsibility to make sure your group arrives about 15 minutes prior. Late departures will have a shorter on water experience.
FOOD AND DRINKS: Guests will eat and drink SIGNIFICANTLY LESS on a boat than on land. The sites are inspiring, the music is amazing and people like to move about and mingle as well as capture the moments with photos. We want you to have a hassle-free experience and planning appropriately helps. We suggest charcuterie and cheese boards, fruit platters and simple handheld items. We can arrange this for you so when you arrive everything is ready. You may bring your own boards and drinks. Basic boating guidelines- Nothing that stains or is difficult to clean (red wine, oils, sauces and items with dark pigments/coloring). If you are bringing your own items, please let us know ahead of time so we are prepared and can help guide you. We do not accept deliveries or drop offs prior to your boarding- being mindful of how much you bring will make the on-water time longer.
SHOES: The Hudson Star is a shoeless vessel in warm months. In cooler months, you may keep your shoes on as they are not platforms, heels or wedges. Shoes must be flat as the boats do move and stability is important. We have slippers in case someone forgets.
SMOKING/DRUGS: We enforce a smoke-free and drug-free policy without exceptions. We are bound by federal law, and any violation will force a termination of the charter. No exceptions!
CONTRACTS: Once confirmed you will receive your booking confirmation from this booking site, followed by your direct booking email confirmation from our company directly. It will
contain detailed information for your charter. We provide very clear information to make your experience seamless.
