Besides having five daughters and loving the sea, I am an experienced scientist that has fished most of the globe; growing up in a family owned fish business in North East with over 30 years of fishing experience, I have learned the roots and tools of the trade from my Dad and Uncle catching and treating fish with respect; utilizing the entire animal, filleting fish and studying what fish eat, delivery of bait and probability of success in the most productive areas you have access.
Having a plan is the key to success in any task; before the trip we will set up a time to talk with the Captain, Mates and YES with you and your team learning: What are your goals?, equipment you may want to use, fish you want to target, if not in season, my team will tell you and we may need to rethink a new date or target species with higher probability. Goals are to land fish you want!
Methods and Materials:
Team will rig the night before, I recommend you join my team the night before and have a hands on learning experience on the “prep night before” From tackle checks to rods through reels we utilize the best equipment to land you fish, including: 50W and 80W Penn Internationals, never skimping on rigs, Large baits catch bigger fish, ballyhoo, live baits and trolling lures are great but checking quality of baits often like a scientific experiment, results in catching more sizable fish. I only ask you take whatever you will plan on eating and not one fish more.
