CHARTERER MUST BE 25+ to charter the Smooth Cs
The Smooth C’s is the only U.S. Coast Guard Inspected and certified vessel on Boatsetter in Tampa Bay and is certified for up to 20 passengers. USCG Certification means that the vessel is regularly inspected by the Coast Guard to ensure all safety equipment is functional, that the vessel is structurally sound and all systems are working properly, and most importantly that all crew are trained and appropriately licensed. We regularly run safety drills with the Coast Guard. USCG Certification is required by federal law for any vessel charters carrying more than six (6) passengers for hire. There are many uninspected (and in many cases unsafe) vessels operating in our area using a legal loophole (bareboat or demise charters) that transfers the liability to you, the charterer, in order to carry 12 or 13 passengers. We are fully certified, insured and completely legally capable of carrying up to 20 passengers without exposing you to additional liability by resorting to the questionable interpretation of the law that these less than fully legal vessels attempt to use. While we’re able to accommodate groups of up to 20, we’re regularly booked by smaller groups of 2 to 12 people.
As a USCG Inspected Passenger Vessel we are held to a much higher standard of safety than the other vessels on Boatsetter, which is why we are able to accommodate more passengers. Because of this we do have more safety rules and regulations we must follow. Please be sure to read below for more information.
FOOD/DRINKS/ALCOHOL You’re welcome to bring your own food and drinks; no restrictions other than beer must be in cans. Any passenger consuming alcohol must be at least 21, and passengers assume legal consequences due to drinking of alcohol. When alcohol is on board the yacht all guests will need to have ID with them. Any guest under 21 will need to be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian.
We provide plastic cups and disposable dining ware. Bottled water and ice are complementary.
NO SWIMMING/ISLAND TRIPS Due to CG safety regulations, jumping/swimming from the yacht is prohibited. Additionally, sandbar/island trips are not available; this includes Egmont, Shell Key, Beer Can Island, etc.
NO SMOKING/NO FLAME Due to CG Fire regulations, our yacht is NON SMOKING - sorry we cannot make any exceptions for this safety requirement.
NO MARIJUANA/NO DRUGS We have a zero tolerance policy for any and all illegal drugs. Please note that while marijuana is medically legal in Florida, it is not legal on the federal level and Marijauna is not permitted on board (even with a medical prescription). As a Federally Documented and licensed vessel we are bound by federal law (not state law). DO NOT BRING IT WITH YOU!
CRUISING AREA We typically cruise the downtown St Pete area of Tampa Bay. Downtown we can see the beautiful Salvador Dali Museum, the historic Vinoy Hotel, the new St Pete Pier and park, and of course the downtown St Pete Skyline. We will almost always see dolphins feeding under the docks and around the seawalls of the beautiful waterfront neighborhoods nearby. We will see the Tampa Skyline in the distance to the North and the Sunshine Skyway Bridge in the distance to the south. All cruise routes are determined by the captain and based upon the weather conditions that day.
ADA/ DISABILITIES We regularly cruise with guests of all abilities, however due to the design of the vessel we are unable to be ADA compliant. Wheelchairs or walkers can be used to get to us on the dock, but cannot be used on board, however our crew can store them for you. Guests will need to climb 7 standard steps with a handrail to board the yacht.
NO SERVICE ANIMALS Sorry, for their safety the Coast Guard does not permit us to allow service animals or pets of any kind on board as we are not certified to rescue them in an emergency.
DEPARTURE LOCATION We depart from the Harborage Marina, 1110-3rd Street South, St Pete FL 33701. Complimentary parking is available in the guest lot. We are the only area charter vessel with FREE ON SITE PARKING! Guest boarding is 15 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time.
