We are new to Boatsetter, but have been operating in Tampa Bay since 2010.
Our price already includes fuel and crew gratuity!
The Smooth C’s is U.S. Coast Guard Inspected and certified for up to 20 passengers. We are the only USCG Inspected and Certified vessel on Boatsetter.
USCG Certification means that the vessel is regularly inspected by the Coast Guard to ensure all safety equipment is functional, that the vessel is structurally sound and all systems are working properly, and most importantly that all crew are trained and appropriately licensed. We regularly run safety drills with the Coast Guard.
USCG Certification is required by federal law for any vessel charters carrying more than six (6) passengers for hire.
There are many uninspected vessels operating in our area using a legal loophole (bareboat or demise charters) that transfers the liability to you, the charterer, in order to carry 12 or 13 passengers.
We are fully certified, insured and completely legally capable of carrying up to 20 passengers without exposing you to additional liability by resorting to the questionable interpretation of the law that these less than fully legal vessels attempt to use. While we’re able to accommodate groups of up to 20, we’re regularly booked by smaller groups of 2 to 12 people.
Due to insurance requirements, GUESTS MUST BE 25+ years old to charter the Smooth C's. A Valid Government Issued Photo ID must be presented upon arrival and prior to boarding. The ID must match the name used when booking.
Our rates include a USCG master captain, mate, fuel and bottled water and ice. The Captain fee listed on Boatsetter is a crew gratuity split between all crew members on board the day of your trip. No additional gratuity is necessary!
Rates are based upon hours, not per person. All ages are welcome; every person, regardless of age, counts towards the maximum of 20 passengers. Children will need to be supervised by a member of the group at all times.
We provide 15 minutes for boarding, and 15 minutes for disembarkation. This time can also be used for set up and tear down. This is more than enough time for most parties, however if you feel you need more time for set up or tear down, ask about purchasing additional dockside time.
Unlike many other vessels fuel is always included on Smooth C's, we do not charge you extra for the fuel burned during your trip. Depending on the vessel this can save hundreds per hour!
You’re welcome to bring your own food and drinks; no restrictions other than BEER MUST BE IN CANS and glass must remain inside the cabin on the bar, cups are provided.
Any passenger consuming alcohol must be at least 21, and passengers assume legal consequences due to drinking of alcohol. When alcohol is on board the yacht all guests will need to have ID with them. Any guest under 21 will need to be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian.
We provide plastic cups and disposable dining ware. Bottled water and ice are complementary. Our crew is happy to help you load, set up your bar, and help keep the area clean, but we are unable to otherwise handle alcohol. You are welcome to serve yourselves.
We are happy to recommend caterers to you if you would like a catered meal on board. Our crew is happy to help coordinate delivery and set up prior to your arrival. Send us a message and ask for catering recommendations.
Guests are welcome to play their own music by connecting to our system through Bluetooth.
NO SWIMMING/ISLAND TRIPS
Due to CG regulations, jumping/swimming from the yacht is prohibited. Additionally, sandbar/island trips are not available; this includes Egmont, Shell Key, Beer Can Island, etc.
NO SMOKING/NO FLAME
Due to CG Fire regulations, our yacht is NON SMOKING.
NO MARIJUANA/NO DRUGS
We have a zero tolerance policy for any and all illegal drugs. Please note that while marijuana is medically legal in Florida, it is not legal on the federal level and Marijauna is not permitted on board (even with a medical prescription). As a Federally Documented and licensed vessel we are bound by federal law (not state law). DO NOT BRING IT WITH YOU!
Most shoes are welcome on board with the exception of any shoe that raises your foot more than 1 inch. For safety reasons, if you wear Heels, Wedges, Platforms, etc. you will be asked to remove them prior to boarding. Shoes are not required to be worn and you are welcome to go barefoot, though the deck can sometimes get hot in the summer.
We depart from the Harborage Marina, 1110-3rd Street South, St Pete FL 33701. Complimentary parking is available in the guest lot. We are the only area charter vessel with FREE ON SITE PARKING!
Guest boarding is 15 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time. Earlier boarding can be arranged for an additional fee. Yacht relocation may be available for an additional fee if you would like to depart from a different location.
Cruising in Tampa Bay, two to three hour charters typically stay in the downtown St Pete area due to time constraints. Downtown we can see the beautiful Salvador Dali Museum, the historic Vinoy Hotel, the new St Pete Pier and park, and of course the downtown St Pete Skyline. We will see the Tampa Skyline in the distance to the North and the Sunshine Skyway Bridge in the distance to the south. Four hour charters are able to cruise south towards the Skyway area/south Pinellas County or north towards the Gandy Bridge. All cruise routes are determined by the captain and based upon the weather conditions that day. If there’s a particular area you’d like to cruise towards, please let us know.
We are a very popular wedding venue for smaller events. Our captains can officiate your ceremony (for an additional fee and with advance notice).
We also host many rehearsal dinners, bachelorette and bachelor parties and other wedding related events.
Your safety and enjoyment is our top priority! Tampa Bay Yacht Charter (TBYC) will decide if your charter will be canceled or delayed due to current conditions and approaching systems using the current and predictive radar, as well as the marine forecast and actual observations for the intended/probable area of charter. We do cruise in some scattered showers (feel free to take cover during showers or bring a rain jacket), however, we will not begin a charter during an electrical storm or if we believe that such approaching conditions will be unavoidable during a charter by altering course. We ask you to think of it like a ballgame: a little rain during a couple innings, or a delay of the game, doesn’t ruin the whole game.
If we are delayed by conditions (1 hour maximum before canceling), we ask you to come aboard and start the party, while we watch conditions and radar to see when/if it will clear. This decision will be made by TBYC as early as we are certain, and you will be notified immediately if we determine that the charter should be delayed or canceled. If the weather does not clear after that first hour, you will receive a refund minus a $250 dockside fee.
In general, charters are not canceled in advance of cruise time unless we are certain that we will not charter based on the above criteria. While the weather forecast (advance or even hourly) may say there is a high chance of rain, this is very broad and may not affect the time of your charter or the area where your captain may cruise, or could only result in a delay of your charter. If you do not show and conditions do allow for a cruise, this will be considered a no-show and there will be no refunds or rescheduling (sorry, we just don’t want to be left standing on the dock with an empty boat that could be out on the water for a good time).
Partial charters are charters which are shortened due to current or expected inclement conditions, or circumstances beyond our control. Our goal is for every charter to be a perfect cruise, but sometimes safety and comfort force us to shorten a charter. Partial charters are charged a prorated fee UNLESS the charterer decides to continue the event dockside for the duration of the cruise. In this instance, there will be no prorated refunds and TBYC will be deemed to perform its obligations per the charter contract.
