The 36 foot Catalina is not only the most popular 36' sailboat but one of the easiest most comfortable and friendliest boats to sail. The Boat is set up for single handed sailing and in King Harbor you are out on the ocean in under 10 minutes. In Fall and Spring your chances of seeing a whale are very good and seeing dolphins and seals are an almost every sail experience. You can sail up to Marina Del Ray for lunch or dinner or eat before or after your sail at any of the 7 restaurants within a very short walk.
Catalina 36 is arguably the most popular sailboat of this size ever built. Designed by in-house naval architect Gerry Douglas.

Grace is a great daysailor, but in no way a safe overnight cruiser (at the time of writing). The description needs a few adjustments:
- has no chart plotter and is missing the most basic instrumentation (wind indicator, depthmeter, etc.). We found out at check-in, after full rental amount was already paid...
- windlass is not working, it is a pain to anchor
- BUT THE MOST IMPORTANT DECEPTION: there was only 20gal of fresh water on the boat, not the 85gal advertised. A major safety breach in my opinion.
The boat otherwise sails and motors great, batteries are new, fridge a good size and the dinghy a satisfaction.
Gary is responsive and friendly, only problem was to discover all that did not work with him at check-in.
Great boat, great "crew" (Gary), easy rental process. My group of two intermediate sailors and two newbies were all very happy.
