Explore India from the ‘sea-side’, be the first to sail along the Indian coast with Antara: a beautiful, Van de Stadt design 40 footer sail boat and the first of her kind in the Indian waters. She offers you the opportunity to explore the Indian coastline; a sail to the isles off the Indian coast: Lakshwadeep, Andamans, Mauritius and Maldives; and longer sea passages for the more adventurous.
Antara has been certified as an ocean-going yacht and is fully compliant with all safety, navigation and communication requirements. She is skippered by India’s first solo circumnavigator, Capt Donde.
Dilip completed his solo circumnavigation under sail in 2010, on the INSV Mhadei, and has been instrumental in training the next 7 Indian circumnavigators.
Antara’s First Mate, Sucheta Jadhav, started sailing 5 years ago and crewed in the 2017-18 Clipper Round the World Race.
Antara is ready for bookings for her first season starting October 2019. We recommend long sails between 3 – 5 days as that will allow you to explore more of (and off) the Indian coast. For such trips, Antara can comfortably accommodate 4 people, besides crew. We do offer day sails too and can take up to 10 people for such sorties.
