What You Can Expect:
Om Sailing offers private sailing charter service for up to six passengers per sailing on Om which is a beautiful and very large sailing catamaran. Weather and tide permitting we may sail out to the Jetties passing Fort Sumter, Sullivan’s Island, James Island, Mount Pleasant, under the Author Ravenel JR. Bridge or along the Charleston Peninsula. It's a rare occasion when we do not see a dolphin playing in the beautiful waters of the harbor.
What To Expect Onboard:
“Om” is a Leopard 4300 catamaran, a true blue-water cruiser featuring a full-batten, self-stacking mainsail, 120 percent roller-furling genoa, and twin 40 hp diesel engines.
Unlike a monohull, a catamaran won’t heel, providing a stable platform and a tremendous amount of space on deck and below. We offer exclusive sailing charters on the gorgeous Charleston Harbor. Charters start at two hours and can be extended to a full day, customizable to your needs.
The true advantage of a catamaran is that you are confined to the cockpit. The front deck with the open air trampoline allow for laying out and relaxing while the water flows underneath of you. keep an open eye as you will most definitely see porpoises jumping in the harbor. It is a true joy to experience sailing without heeling over.
Brightly lit and well ventilated for maximum comfort, the salon features a plush V-shaped settee and a large dining table that converts to a double berth. The adjacent galley has all amenities and plenty of Corian counter space. The yacht has four luxurious double staterooms with ensuite heads and showers, and forward in each hull are single berths. There is ample storage space throughout the sailboat.
What To Bring:
Sunscreen is a must but we also offer a nice cockpit that is completely shaded from the sun. A towel is a good idea and don’t forget your camera! Depending on the time of year you may want to bring along a jacket. The temperatures on the water always feel a few degrees cooler than on land.
