The boat

This catamaran sailboat provides an intimate dolphin and whale watching experience and comfortably carries about 20 passengers. Perfect for small groups of family and friends looking to celebrate a special occasion or simply enjoy each other's company while getting up-close and personal with whales, dolphins, sea lions, pelagic birds, and much more.

Cushioned seating and panoramic views are available in the enclosed cockpit but returning guests know the best place to be is on the bow!

Her specially designed bow with Eye-Spy Dolphin Nets is so close to the water that you feel as though you can touch the animals! You’re also close enough to hear the dolphins vocalize as they swim right under your feet. It’s almost like being in a kayak! There is a restroom available on the boat.

This boat is a crew and passenger favorite. She was the first vessel in Southern California to offer year-round dolphin watching. And it was aboard this catamaran sailboat that Captain Dave filmed his award-winning documentary, “Wild Dolphins & Whales of Southern California“.

Live narration from entertaining and knowledgeable marine naturalists will take you on a deeper dive into the lives of Dana Point's gentle giants; what they do, where they go, and the threats they face. And at the end of your charter, we hope that you'll disembark with a greater understanding of Dana Point's awe-inspiring marine life.

Dana Point, CA, is the Dolphin and Whale Watching Capital of the World® and the first Whale Heritage Site in the Americas. Experience year-round whales and dolphins including blue whales (May – Oct.), gray whales (Dec. - May), fin whales, humpback whales, minke whales and more, plus 5 species of dolphins that can number in herds up to 10,000! Rare dolphins like orcas and pilot whales can be seen at any time. You could also see sea lions and seals, pelagic birds, and various species of fish, including sharks.

Your crew

Boat owner
I am a Coast Guard licensed captain, and for over 25 years I've had the privilege of taking passengers out to see the magnificent whales and huge pods of dolphins that live year-round off the coast of Southern California. I'm a certified Responsible Whale Watching partner with the World Cetacean Alliance. When I’m not on the water showing passengers amazing sea life, I’m actively involved with whale disentanglement. I founded and organized Orange County's first whale rescue group. I'm also an award-winning filmmaker and author who has been featured on the Ellen DeGeneres Show, Today Show, CBS This Morning, Good Morning America, Discovery Channel, and National Geographic, and have had my film footage in theatrical films including in the Academy Award nominated film, Racing Extinction.
