USCG 50 Ton Inland Masters license I am a ABYC Master Technician certified in Marine Systems, AC/DC Electrical, and Diesel Propulsion PADI Advanced Open Water Scuba Diver I have experience on a wide range of boats from traditional tall ships-cruising sailboats-sailing dinghies-paddlesports-go fast boats-fishing boats, etc.

Previous Experience

I taught myself to sail as a young teenager aboard a sunfish in a lake. I was immediately hooked and from that point on sailed anywhere, everywhere, and on anything that I could. In college I took a study abroad program through Sea Education Association. This program teaches you oceanography, Maritime History, Seamanship, and Navigation(including celestial nav). This was my first experience upon a larger sailing vessel(135' brig) and I loved it. I continued sailing upon "larger" vessels whenever I could. I worked aboard a 65' schooner that sailed mission trips to the Bahamas and Haiti. I worked maintenance and sailed in the capacity of deckhand and then First Mate. In 2010 I worked on the baltimore clipper "Pride of Baltimore II" as a professional deckhand sailing from Chicago through the Great Lakes, the Saint Lawrence Seaway and down the East Coast to Baltimore. I have thousands of nm logged on a variety of vessels both inland, coastal, and offshore. I sailed my own 37' sailboat from Annapolis to Portland, Maine where I lived aboard for several years. I have cruised Casco and Penobscot Bay extensively. I am now relocating back to SWFL.

Professional Background

I have worked in various roles aboard from deckhand up.
