I grew up here in San Diego and spent much of my youth boating and fishing off the California coast. I have about 800 days at sea on many different types of vessels. Some of the boats I have experience piloting include; Sea Ray, and Bayliner motorboats from 26' up to 42'. Sailboats from 27' up to a 48' top sailed Schooner. Catamarans up to 40 feet including Lagoon and Gemini brands.
In the past, I have worked on the SHOGUN (98 TON) long range sportfishing vessel based here in San Diego. In addition I have been a crew member of the 83' topsail Schooner AMAZING GRACE where we sailed as far as Catalina Island to the west and Marina Del Rey to the north. I am currently the First Mate on the CHERE AMIE, a 90' Party and sightseeing boat here in San Diego Bay.
I completed the 100 Ton Captain's curriculum at the San Diego Maritime Institute in February of 2015. At that time, I passed all the exams for my license as well as Towing and Sailing Endorsement exams. I have current Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED Certification. Over 25 years of experience Fishing, sailing and boating in waters from Santa Barbara, CA to the Alijos Rocks off of the Baja Peninsula in everything from a 12 foot skiff up to 83' topsail schooners.
