About Lake Mead

Lake Mead is a prominent reservoir nestled on the border of Nevada and Arizona. This marvel of human engineering emerged with the construction of the Hoover Dam in 1935. The Dam was created to harness the waters of the Colorado River and provide electricity to the region and has since become a sought-after escape for water enthusiasts.

Lake Mead is the largest reservoir in the United States. At full capacity, the reservoir covers approximately 247 square miles. However, between droughts, water allocation, and seasonal changes, the water levels can vary.
