Excellent experience! Whole family had a great time. Towing insurance was a life saver...low tide came on too quick and we got stuck on a sand bar. Even with this, everything went smoothly with getting a tow and getting back in the water. James and his wife were excellent.

James was very attentive to our needs. I was so grateful for his genuine concern that my family and I had a good time. I can not recommend renting James’ boat enough. I was a wonderful experience!

We had a great time renting the pontoon boat. It had all the fishing rods we needed. The gps helped us since this was our first time on this waterway. His wife was very nice and informative on everything we needed. Thanks again and will definitely renting again.

We rented this boat for two days. On the first day the boat ran fine with no issues. On the second day the boat would not start at all. James had to send his wife out to look at the boat. We ended up getting the boat running just long enough to make it back to the marina to fill it up with gas. James told us that it was up to Boatsetter to refund our money. However, Boatsetter told us that James did not agree to a refund, even though the boat only ran one out of the two days. If you rent this boat, just know you are taking a gamble.

I had to cancel shortly before the trip due to personal circumstances, but James was very communicative and pleasant in the run-up. I would certainly book with James again.

We had a fabulous time on the boat, drove out beyond St Catherines Island, dropped the anchor and caught Sharks, Rays and Whiting. James and Amanda made the whole experience easy and were both very knowledgable. Although the boat is old, it is reliable and very well equipped for day’s fishing. We had our own gear but James will supply everything you need and you can buy live shrimp, frozen shrimp and squid from the marina shop. We hope to rent again before our vacation is over, Highly recommended!!

GPS and depth finder worked well. Prior trace helped me navigate where we wanted to go. Fishing poles and basic tackle were provided,which helped us to have a good time. Holds up to 9 guests. Owners were on time, boat clean, provided direction, ensured we were squared away and thanked us for our business. Very friendly. Keep in mind you must replenish your gas and pay a cleaning fee. I think that is standard on all boat rentals.

Worth every penny! We spoke over the phone before we arrived, and he had everything we needed. The GPS was already set to were we wanted to go. We had a great time. I would definitely recommend.

Thank you to James and family for sharing their boat. We had an OK time, but have some very specific feedback that we hope you will find helpful. Upon leaving the marina, we struggled to get the boat to start. It stalled numerous times and we had to anchor and keep trying. Seems like the engine could use some maintenance. The other frustrating item was that we were not warned of the NUMEROUS sand bars in relation to that marina and between Catherine Island. It would have saved us a LOT of stress and drama had the owners told us the best route to use given the tide and these sand bars. The loran only helps you avoid a bar but cannot help you find the route to go around them. Unfortunately there was bad weather coming and we were very stressed trying to return.

Great service. Thank you to Amanda for waiting on us to get to the marina to pick up the boat. She was informative and answered our questions. Even when we were out on the boat doing recon on the water. We’d called about the depth finder. She talked us through it. Caught fish, sharks and even a hammerhead shark. Will definitely use again. Made our vacation that much more enjoyable and everlasting memories.

Had a great time fishing and walking around the North Beach at St. Catherines Island. James and Amanda are a pleasure to deal with and made the process easy. We caught a few large sting rays and family had a great time. Would definitely recommend.

Four of us took the boat to explore St Catherine's beach, some fishing spots, and several creeks and inlets around the area. The boat was well-equipped with all we needed and ran well. James and Amanda are attentive and helpful. If you need a boat to explore the area, I can recommend renting this one.

James and his wife (sorry I don't remember your name!) are nice, professional and trustworthy. Very happy with them but not happy with the boatsetter.com experience in general. The company and site make it very difficult to try the service. They disallow any contact between renters and owners making committing to a rental very risky (at least for me). I find their reasoning disingenuous...they say it's for our security. BS, its because they're afraid some people will make arrangements outside of boatsetter. But why would they? Boatsetter's value is the insurance AND holding payment until the transaction is completed. Let us communicate so we can build trusting relationships between buyers/sellers...I can't imagine how many sales are lost because of their restrictive policies! I was soooooo close to blowing it off! This was a very inexpensive rental...no way would I have done it for $600...why not just rent from a business at a marina for that kind of money?

My experience renting from James and his wife could not have been better. They reached out to us right away and took care of everything. The boat was great and everything was ready to go as soon as we arrived. He even went as far as providing us fishing gear. We caught sea trout, redfish, sharks, rays, and whiting all day long out near St. Catherine’s Island which was just a short drive away. Thanks again James, we will be back!

Boat was nice, thank you! We didn’t realize there was an extra $50 cash cleaning fee when you turn the boat in. We did not have the exact amount. We would have if we’d known. We’ve rented numerous boats and never had a fee on return. Thanks so much for the use of the boat! Take care!
