It’s our nation’s independence day tomorrow and fireworks are in order. In South Florida, the best place to celebrate 4th of July is at the beach. There’s just something uniquely amazing about the dark night sky, the ocean waves crashing into the sand, palm trees framing the view with the warm South Florida summer breeze…and fireworks on display as we celebrate America’s freedom. Great beachfront fireworks displays speckle the South Florida coastline and can be viewed by land or anchored in a boat out at sea. Check out our top 10 picks for your beachside 4th of July party.

#10 – Lauderdale-by-the-sea – This sleepy, family-oriented village north of Fort Lauderdale proper offers just the right combination of quaintness and rustic feel making it an amazing place to spend the 4th of July. There’s an Independence Day Parade during the day and the fireworks display scheduled at 9 PM by the North pier. This is Americana at its best – with a beach side seat!

#9 – Deerfield Beach – Relax with your toes in the sand as scenic Deerfield Beach celebrates America’s Independence. The show starts around 9PM near Ocean and 1st and the festivities feature a variety of arts & crafts, local foods and drink…don’t forget to save your wave-side seat for the fireworks, it’s going to be epic!

#8 – North Miami Beach – Near Biscayne Bay, North Miami will be putting on a 4th of July celebration that includes food vendors, family oriented offerings such as bounce houses and live music. Fireworks start at sundown so spread out your beach blanket early to save your beach front seat!

#7 – Hollywood Beach – Hollywood Beach will be red, white and blue all day…starting with one of South Florida’s largest 4th of July parades. Offshore fireworks start at 9 PM and the spots along the Hollywood Beach boardwalk provide the perfect vantage point for the display!

#5 – Key Largo  – Somewhere around Mile Marker 103 over the Blackwater Sound, a fireworks display will take place that makes a weekend in the Florida Keys even better. The best view can be found on land or at sea. Relax in the Keys this 4th of July and watch as the fireworks illuminate the sky above the ocean.

#4 – West Palm Beach – Florida’s Palm Beaches offer an upscale destination for summer fun. The fireworks on Flagler touts the title of South Florida’s largest firework display and also offers lives music, family friendly activities as well as an exclusive VIP club for viewing the celebration. This is not your average fireworks display!

#3 – Fort Lauderdale Beach – It’s called the 4th of July Spectacular and it can be viewed anywhere on Fort Lauderdale Beach from Las Olas to Sunrise Boulevard and lots of sandy spots in between. The experience of fireworks lighting up the Atlantic Ocean with music playing is a true sight to behold!

#2 – South Beach, Miami – From 9PM until 2AM, Ocean Drive in Miami Beach will be celebrating the 4th of July…South Beach style! From the models to latin music to art deco, a 4th of July on South Beach is nothing if not festive. Bring your salsa moves and your taste for Mojitos for after the fireworks display, of course!

Number one place to see fire works in South Florida? (Drum roll, please)

Key West, Florida!

Key West (on an average day) has so much to offer, but on 4th of July, it truly becomes a top South Florida destination for fun! From parades to bar strolls to key lime pie contest to epic sunsets, the southernmost stop in the United States comes alive for America’s birthday. The fireworks are amazing whether you’re on a catamaran in the middle of the Atlantic or dockside. Key West is our favorite South Florida destination for fireworks.
