The boat is very well-equipped and comfortable. Rides comfortably in semi-rough seas, is fuel-efficient, and has a surprisingly good turning radius. It doesn't turn well in reverse, however. Top speed is about 8 knots, so you must plan sufficient time to get anywhere. Scott does a good job orienting new renters, he has good documentation for those who need backup, and he stands ready to offer support during the trip. Could be tough navigating the rather tight slip, but we lucked out that the partner boat wasn't in residence.

We had an excellent experience with Scott and his Tug cruising the San Juans! Scott was very communicative and met us on-site, taking us through the entire boat and all the nuances.
Our trip began in Edmonds at the marina at 6 am Friday July 3rd, and we headed up to Roche Harbor via the West side of Whidbey and San Juan Island (I would recommend the west side of Camano to the less experienced boater) and arrived around 3 pm after stopping for around an hour off of Lime Kiln Point (San Juan Island) to watch a pod of orcas breaching/chasing the salmon with the tides.
The boat was very comfortable for sleeping four for the weekend of the fourth up at Roche! The dinghy is great for harbor travel as well.
On Sunday, we motored down to Friday Harbor, picking up four pink salmon on the power downriggers and fishing gear Scott provides with the boat and spent some time in town/watched USA win the women's world cup - hooray! We cooked dinner, put on a dvd and headed to bed.
Monday am we made breakfast and headed up to Sucia island and anchored out, read our books and had lunch. We took the dinghy to shore and explored the island, returned to the boat and had dinner, dvd and bed.
Tuesday am we headed all the way back to Edmonds, leaving at 6 am and getting in around 5:00. my only regret on this trip is not exploring more of the San Juans, perhaps Orcas or Lopez! Also, it was a long one day trip for the captain.
Great boat, comfortable fully equipped for all your adventures. We will be doing the trip again next year!
One suggestion for all boaters that worked well for us - do your best to plan around the tides! I use: http://www.deepzoom.com/#

I cant say enough about Scott and his Sundowner! You cannot go wrong here! The boat is well appointed and very well maintained. It's incredibly stable and fuel efficient. For a single screw inboard, I found it very very manageable...even in tight spaces. My family had a wonderful experience, we'll be back!

Brazo is a great boat! Scott has her outfitted with everything that my wife and I needed for 7 days in the Islands. Super efficient on fuel, with easy to manage battery bank/gen-set and a great dinghy. Nice mattresses on the fwd V berth and hot water in the shower. Navigation was a cinch with the Garmin and the auto pilot and the ride is quite pleasant. The anchor has 200 feet of chain, which I prefer - makes me sleep better. Scott is super responsive and right there if we had questions. He keeps the boat in great shape and is right there, in person, to assist. I would suggest to any reader, that you have experience with cruising - Brazo is not complicated at all, but as it is with boats, you need to monitor and be thinking one step ahead to keep the kinks out of your trip, and keep Scott's boat safe.

We took Brazo to the San Juans for a week. The boat handles very well and is super stable which was perfect for my motion sensitive wife. Scott was knowledgeable and accommodating getting us checked out and there was everything we could want on board. We really enjoyed the dingy while anchored or on a buoy. The boat has all the electronics you could want at the helm but you don't need to use them if you just want to keep it simple. We will be cruising on Brazo again!

The Brazo is an amazing boat. We had so much fun cruising on the Puget Sound. We picked up a mooring buoy at Fort Flagler. Really fun taking the dingy in to the dock and getting ice cream. The Brazo is very stable in the water, I didn't even notice the swells from the container ships when in the shipping channel. The boat is so well equipped, with very thoughtful touches. The kids loved the cabin, and all the room on the boat. We will definitely be going out again!
