“My wife and I live in the Charleston area and love being on the water. We enjoy taking family and friends on the boat for harbor cruises, dolphin watching, tubing, shell hunting at inlets, fishing and cruising the intercoastal waterway.”
Aboard since 2015
From Summerville, SC
We had a wonderful experience renting this boat from Tim! It was a last minute decision to rent a boat during spring break for the kids...inquired on a Thursday afternoon for a Friday rental and Tim was quick to respond to our inquiry. We are very familiar with the Charleston waters, but Tim provided much info. including maps to navigate as well as a portable pump for our tube. He was waiting for us at the dock and had everything ready to go so we could quickly enjoy our day on the water. As for the boat, it was awesome! Very well maintained and a great boat for cruising or tubing. We had two adults, a teenager and 3 children (ages 12,10,8) and had plenty of room. Tim was readily available when we decided to come back a little earlier than planned and again was at the dock waiting on us. We would highly recommend this boat and Tim for renting a boat. We plan to rent again from Tim soon! Thanks again for a great experience!
This was my first Boatbound experience and Tim was great from start to finish. Everything with the boat was as advertised and I could have asked for a more enjoyable experience that day. The communication with Tim was great from the start of our messaging on Boatbound and even up until now. My family and I will definitely rent from Tim again. I highly recommend renting his boat.
If you are in the area and want a great experience then Tim is the guy to rent from. We had planned a couple of weeks in advance, we spoke and emailed during the process quite freely. As a family we decided to make a day of it. So we asked Tim if he could let us shove off around 9am and then we were going to eat lunch and dinner on the water, getting back fairly late. He told us he would provide us charts with some great spots to stop. Our plan of meeting Tim at 9am changed when the family switched to vacation mode and decided sleeping in would be a better idea. I called Tim and he changed his schedule no problem for us, very accommodating indeed. The weather was supposed to be great, but as happens in SC in the spring it changed the morning of the rental. I met Tim at the boat at 10:30 as planned, in the pouring rain. He said no problem, we would meet up again around 12:30 as the rain was supposed to pass. We met back at that time and the boat was ready to go. I am an experienced captain so the shake down was brief. The boat was spotless and in perfect condition. It ran out very nice with an easy 30 mph cruise speed. Our plan was to head down the Cooper into the harbor and up the inter-coastal. The water was a very close 2-3 chop and the boating was not impossible but just uncomfortable so we altered our plan and explored the area going up the Cooper for quite a way. (Half a tank of gas worth) We saw many cargo and military ships, a couple of submarines and some very interesting shipyard activity. Since the day was cut short, we returned after about 4 hours. Tim felt the full day rental was unfair. I told him weather is never predictable and we understand that when we commit to a rental. He offered to contact Boatbound and refunded half a day's rental fee. How can you beat that! Great guy, great boat, fun and safe cruising, plenty of water. The boat has a very easy to use GPS which made the area easy to explore and driving down the river like a video game! Thank you Tim, next time we are in Charleston you will be on our list!!!!!
