Here at Boatsetter, we’re conscious of the environmental impact boating has on the planet’s water. We’re also aware that mindfulness is a practice. So, to help our boat owners, we’ve created the Mind Your Wake Stewards Grant program. Our program supports water conservation nonprofits who share our passion for sustainability and seek to make a positive impact on our waterways.

How the Mind Your Wake Stewards Grant program works

Boatsetter owners are able to nominate 501(c)(3) organizations in their communities whose mission aligns with Boatsetter’s sustainability goals. Our team will vet the nominees and the winning organizations will be awarded a grant to support their on-going efforts in keeping our waterways clean, healthy, and safe. A total of $15,000 in grant funding is available exclusively for Boatsetter owners through this program.

Mind Your Wake Stewards Grant history & goal

If this program sounds familiar to you, it’s because we first started this project in 2020! Formerly known as The Owner Community Grant program, we awarded a total of $15,000 across nine incredible water conservation nonprofit organizations nominated by Boatsetter owners. This year, we have our sights set on not only supporting more water conservation nonprofits, but also continuing the Mind Your Wake Stewards Grant program annually.

Hear from past Mind Your Wake Stewards

“I have been a big fan of Baykeeper for many years, as an avid boater who loves and appreciates San Francisco Bay.  I believe the Bay needs good stewards so that we can keep it clean and safe for everyone to enjoy.  For the past two years, I have volunteered as a boat pilot in Baykeeper’s annual on-the-water Bay Parade event. The lively Bay Parade unites boaters, swimmers, kayakers, and SUPers to celebrate San Francisco Bay. With over 300 participants, Baykeeper’s annual Bay Parade has created a community of Bay enthusiasts and environmental stewards.” — Maggie Hallahan, Boatsetter Owner

“The co-founder (Michelle Swaby) is a friend and colleague. I really love the passion she and her daughter have regarding the conservation of nature and the arts. I also appreciate their efforts in educating and exposing minority youth to nature.” — Danni Washington, Boatsetter Owner
