The 2015 eMerge Americas technology conference, held at the Miami Beach Convention Center, was a hugely successful event for the region, netting over 10,000 attendees representing 50 countries and 500 companies. The event was a hotspot for investors, entrepreneurs and celebrities alike. The chance for exposure amongst such a powerful group drew some of the most innovative and cutting-edge technology-related start ups across both North & Latin America as well as Europe.

An integral part of the event, held May 1st through May 5th, was the “Startup Showcase + Competition” whose lineup of entries was comprised of some the region’s best and brightest early and later-stage startups. Of the thousands of applicants from all around the world, 129 companies were selected as finalists. South Florida-based tech startup, Boatsetter (www.boatsetter.com), was proud to be selected as one of only 10 companies to present on center stage in front of a packed house. The distinguished panel of judges all donned their Boatsetter sunglasses during the presentation to ensure they were at the right latitude. With fierce competition, a top 10 finish for Boatsetter, the marine industry startup poised to transform the $121 Billion boating industry by introducing the sharing economy to this unique market, is considered a huge success.

Boatsetter co-Founder and CEO, Andy Sturner, reflected on the 5-day event, “As we continue to innovate in the marine industry, it is a great honor to be recognized for our efforts in the setting of eMerge Americas.”

The event was packed with celebrities such as the Miami Heat’s Chris Bosch and
musical icon, Pitbull while Boatsetter’s on-the-ground Instagram marketing team created a buzz! View photos of the event.
