“At the age of 12, my family and another pooled funds and bought a 32 wooden, single screw Luhrs flybridge convertible. Docked at Castle Marina on Kent Island, MD in the early '70's, our mornings were spent in awe of the wildlife traversing the narrows and days cruising the Bay. In no time I was hooked and gaining experience crewing on racing boats. My first boat was bought a year out of college and the fleet has grown since then. Boats I’ve owned include: Hatteras 43 MY (present), 44' Fountaine Pajot sailing cat (present), 25' Robalo CC (present), 21' Hurricane (present), Morgan 43, Hatteras 38 conv., Catalina 34, Buccaneer 27, Venture 224. And those I’ve operated include: 75 Hatteras MY, 61 Hatteras MY, Ocean 56, Hatteras 50 Sportfish, Irwin 37, Contest 32, C&C 40, CSY 44, Sea Ray 50, C&C 32, Limestone 25, Silverton 40. I was fortunate to have spent my 20’s ferrying boats up and down the US east coast, Bahamas and into the Caribbean. (While preferring the expediency of running outside, I know too well the ICW and its many ports). Home has always been the Chesapeake Bay and though I’ve still not seen all that Capt. John Smith explored, I've experienced much of it and am thrilled to share the many great experiences the Bay offers!”
Aboard since 2014
From Alexandria, VA
It rained us out and we had to use the boat house which was nice, but we weren’t discounted anything for not being able to go out on the water. Which I feel we should have had some form of discount, because we pay for the water experience, not the boathouse. All-in-all, Rob was extremely hospitable and accommodating.
Captain Rob is the best. Me and my fiancé spent a half day on the boat with him and couldn’t have enjoyed our time more. He knows his boats and makes you feel extremely relaxed so you can just enjoy being out on the water. Already looking forward to booking another trip with him!
We had an amazing experience with Captain Rob and can’t wait to come back again for another charter. He took great care of our family (including our dog Gracie) and shared his expertise. Taking the time to explain many details of sailing and answering all our questions made this a safe and memorable day. Can’t wait for our next trip!
We had a great time celebrating our 35th birthdays on Jammin'. Rob was great to work with and was very timely with answering all of our questions pre-trip. Jammin' was a great boat for 4 couples, each having their own head. There was plenty of room in and outside.
Look no further- you have found the perfect boat for amazing memories. I can not speak more highly for Rob as he is absolutely wonderful to work with! We rented his lovely boat for the weekend to sail up to Rock Hall for my bachelorette party. He was available to use throughout the planning process and the actual weekend. We were all blown away with the boat and how clean it was. We had plenty of space for all of us. You can not go wrong with Rob and his amazing vessel on the beautiful Chesapeake bay. Rob defiantly went out of his way to make this weekend special for all of us and we will forever be grateful.
Rob was super helpful with getting me familiarized with the Orana 44', Jammin, during the checkout process. He made sure that I was comfortable with maneuvering/docking the boat before heading out on the charter. Not many other charter companies do that and it's nice to get a feel for the boat before heading out.
The Orana 44' was in great condition and extremely well kept. The generator and A/C was great for my land loving crew. Boat barely ate any gas the whole time. Sails were in great condition. Twin screws worked great. Fridges were nice and cold. Plenty of supplies and kitchen appliances. Grill was awesome. Would charter again.
