This year’s music festival headliners include country-music superstars Miranda Lambert and Kenny Chesney, who will be the main acts on Friday and Saturday nights, respectively.

Each day of the festival, the music starts between 1:30 and 3:30 pm and continues well after sunset with lots of different acts and with all the foot-stomping sing-along fun that fans love.

The great news for boaters is that Panama City Beach is also a terrific spot for cruising, fishing, watersports, and more— which means you can combine mornings and early afternoons out on the water with memorable music during late afternoons and evenings at the festival.

Marinas that welcome you and your boat during the Gulf Coast Jam

Point South Marina Bay Point has 180 slips, some of which are reserved for transient boaters who can book for a day, a few days, or a week.

The marina has amenities such as high-speed Wi-Fi and free laundry and offers services including bottom cleaning and topside detailing if you want to let the marina’s team spiff up your ride while you’re out jamming at the festival.

Bayside Marina is another option, with wet slip rentals available for one week at a time. For boaters who want to get in a little fishing before the singing and dancing each day, there’s a bait and tackle shop on-site here, along with sales of ice to load up all the coolers on board.

Lighthouse Marina is where to go if you want to dock-and-dine in Panama City Beach. This marina is home to the Grand Marlin Restaurant & Oyster Bar, serving up oysters caught locally at Apalachicola and East Bay, as well as oysters brought in from farther afield.

Pro Tip: Other local delicacies on the menu include seafood gumbo, she-crab soup, shrimp and grits, and fried Gulf shrimp. The restaurant’s signature Gulf Coast Seafood Stew is made with calamari, fish, shrimp, and mussels for a major taste of the local sea.

Yet another option is Treasure Island Marina, which has transient slips and 24-hour fuel options, so you can fill up the tanks no matter what time you get back from the Gulf Coast Jam.

Boating in Panama City Beach is a great experience for novice boaters and seasoned pros; with the addition of the Gulf Coast Jam, a long weekend on the water here can become a vacation unto itself.
