Folsom’s Best Bodies of Water

Negro Bar State Park

Across the lake from the Folsom Powerhouse is Negro Bar State Park, where you’ll find a large paved launch ramp with a dock, or you can even launch directly from the beach. Boating and fishing are major attractions here, and you can expect to catch trout, catfish, big and smallmouth bass, or perch.

Nimbus Flat

Nimbus Flat also allows boat launching year-round from the lakeshore on a short channel to the lake. Be sure also to visit the Sacramento State Aquatic Center next to the park. There is a big shady picnic area and a long beach nearby.

Willow Creek

Set sail on your Folsom Lake boat rental to Willow Creek, the smallest of the launch sites. Here you can launch kayaks in a little cove in shallow water. Glide past native trees and vegetation and try to spot the several species of wildlife that live here. Visit the pleasant little picnic area along the lake.
